A Touch of Green is proudly celebrating our 25th year in the landscape world. We consider ourselves to be experts at every facet dealing with the landscape industry. We mostly pride ourselves on our customer service and the referrals we receive from our clients. Our Garden Center comes fully stocked with everything you could possibly need to suit your landscape needs. From fertilizers and hardscapes, to any type of plant you can imagine, including palm trees! Yes, palm trees; we bring in the finest selection of seasonal palm trees to give you the tropical feel for the summer, right around your pool. Your neighbors will want to take their summer vacation in your back yard! We also carry a large selection of statues and fountains to give your yard that missing element. Also, don’t forget to stop in the fall to get your pumpkins and hay bales, and follow up with us in the winter months to pick up your Christmas tree and firewood. Being a local family owned business, we support local business, which is why we’ve paired up with Caribbean pools and K-brothers fence to give you the ultimate option for improving your yard. All three companies combined give over 75 years of experience. We have all worked together for several years, and stand by each others work. Our Landscaping department retains knowledge of every area you would ever infer about landscape needs. We are experts in our plant selection and incorporate our digital design program, which you can find more about under the Design Department. Our designers put their skills to the test to give every customer a unique and beautiful yard that exceeds the client’s expectations. The Designers
Jim Lahey - Owner and Designer Jim has been landscaping for 25 years. His knowledge spans from landscaping any size house or business to sprinkler systems and lighting systems. Jim started this company from square 1 and built it solely from the ground up. Jim’s award winning work can be seen all over the suburbs of Chicago. His unique insight in formulating original never seen before design patterns is truly astonishing. Jim has an extremely strong passion for his design and it shows in his work.

Steve Lorenz - Lead Designer Steve has been with the company since 1999. He has a degree in landscaping and the experience to compliment it. Steve’s knowledge goes as far as Jims in dealing with any facet in the landscape world. Steve is an expert in all fields of landscaping and strives to provide excellent customer service.

Ryan Hall - Designer Ryan has been with us since 2007. He has a degree in Horticulture with a minor in Residential Design from the University of Illinois. Ryan is one of our new and upcoming designers under the expert tutelage of Jim and Steve. Ryan has been involved in landscaping for 6 years. Recently out of college, he offers new and unique methods of landscape designs.

Bob Pankonin - Irrigation Specialist Bob has been with the company since 2000. His knowledge of irrigation design, installation and maintenance is very impressive. Bob will design any type of sprinkler system, residential and commercial, along with giving you the proper knowledge of how to run your system properly once installed by A Touch of Green. Bob’s troubleshooting for irrigation issues is flawless.
